We just bought a beautiful large bubble coral for our new tank. We have all size hermit crabs and snails in our old reef tank. I'm afraid of what I read about the larger hermit crabs damaging the bubble coral by walking on them. Is this true or will they be fine. The largest is a blue legged hermit. The same goes with the magnus clam. I was afraid the hermit crabs would damage them. Any help appreciated.

I have never personally encountered this problem. IME most crabs rarely cause damage to healthy corals. But if a coral isn’t doing well, they will take advantage of the meal. I would say (in my experience- 30 some years off and on and 6 years of working at a pet store) you are safe.
