Figured I would introduce myself as well. My name is Eddie and I'm a Tangaholic. Like seriously, I am absolutely obsessed with them. I mean I refer to them by their scientific names for fun and am constantly reading new and old articles pertaining to them. I'm kinda sorta how Hunter is with wrasses so feel free to ask any tang related questions.

I have been in the hobby for about 25 years now. In that time I've made just about every mistake you can think of which comes in handy. I thoroughly enjoy helping people but I tend to only do so if the person asks for my help.

I currently have a Red Sea S650 mixed reef with 3 Radion Gen 5 pros for lighting. I love SPS so I think that means I'm insane right? There is a lot more that could be said but let's be honest short and to the point is easier lol.

Hi Eddie,
It is coffee time here for me....I am so excited to hear your passion is tangs...cause we are about ready embark on trying to get several in our 300 acrylic gallon once it is done. SO I am sure I may need to pick your brian.
I have a 140 acrylic now, it been running for almost 2 years now and we out grew it. Had the 300 built in Nov 2020 by a great company since I did not want to even try to do it. But I am building my own 2 sumps for it right now, found a resource for quality acrylic etc. I had them cut everything to size except the smaller chamber panels etc, I will do all that myself.
Our 140 started our with a few lps and some zoas. Now we got drawn to sps and now its a mixed reef...Plans for the 300 will be sections to keep every coral happy and safe.
Once I get the sumps done then we moving everthing to a 75 gallon while we tear down the 140 and move the 300 in its place. I have additional dry rock doing its cycle in a huge garbage can with Microbacter 7.
Hope to meet ya at the next meeting.
Sal

I won't be at the next meeting due to me having a party for my wife but I will likely be at the August meeting. Feel free to ask any questions. Sounds like your new tank will be tons of fun!
