Hey all thought it was time to share our little reef. Not real good at creating legit build threads like ive seen from a few here. Amazing builds and super informative. If you have any questions fire away I'll do my best to answer and try to make sense haha.
Grew up around fresh water cichlid tanks. We always had a tank far as I can remember. Got into saltwater around 96 to 2006 ish when I had to walk away was a bit too much finishing school starting new career and building a family.
Anyhow getting back into it everything's changed from what I remember. Always kept it simple with live rock, a skimmer, mh lighting and that was about it. Trying to get my head wrapped around all the new technology, fancy machines, apps and such haha.
Coming back in I decided to build a few shallow water tables out of old concrete mixing tubs- True Story ill post some pix lol
Wasn't much to look at but was fun building it and did have it dialed and operating like a pretty well oiled machine.
At least that's what I thought haha. Until I recently traded in the old concrete tubs for a cpl 80 gallon Aqua Japan low boy frag tanks. Super efficient, creepy quiet, awesome glass cages im highly impressed.
Pushing 55 watts through my "Shroom Lagoon" tank with a Jebao on Y and 2 hard 90's at returns on tank.
Reef breeder photon v2+ over it hanging in a T5 hybrid kit with a cpl actinic in back bank. A little tricky getting lighting right with a bunch of super fussy shrooms.
Just upgraded skimmers for both tanks to the newest biggest skimmers that bubble magus makes (I think)
Sitting in 2 rough neck 64 gallon plastic storage totes with hang on gravity feed floats sat at skimmer height being feed from brute top off can in adjacent closet.
I'm leaving a bunch out with tank 2 that ill try to get caught up on but in the interim heres my shroom lagoon for now just so I can get a build posted up
Promised pictures of old concrete mixing tubs tables I wasn't kidding haha
New tanks sitting in same spot that just look way better to look at now haha.
